Lost your android phone? Here's how you can track it
There are many apps which helps find lost phones. But those needs to be installed before its lost. Wondering what to do if you have lost your mobile with no tracker apps installed? Relax there is one just for that:
Install When Lost
"Install when lost" is an android app which helps track phone's location, and if you are lucky, it even gets the pic of the thief.
This app is helpful only if thief has not removed your SIM and the mobile is not switched off permanently.
How it works
The app needs to be remotely installed from play.google.com website using the same gmail account which is used in the lost mobile. The app will then automatically get installed in your mobile through OTA.
Once the app is installed it will wake up wherever there is an incoming/outgoing call from/to your mobile. If the mobile is locked by patter/pin and thief is not able to open it, try calling to the mobile and a pic will be taken from front camera (or back camera if your mobile does not have a front cam) before the call starts and as soon as the call gets disconnected, along with location information (latitude and longitude) and mailed to your registered mail ids on the device. If you have configured additional emails in your mobile, Pic and location information will be sent to all of those email ids.
How to install
1. Go to
Google Play Store and search for "Install When Lost"
2. Login to the site using the same Gmail account which is used in your lost mobile.
3. Click on "Install".
4. After a while, say 10 min, try calling to your lost mobile if its reachable the app would have done its trick.
